Chiara Ravaioli is a spatial designer based in Ravenna, Italy. Recently graduated from the University of the Arts of London in 2016, she now is a curator of exhibition spaces such as the Cantine di Palazzo Rava and festivals such as the Sottotraccia, and even serves as a guest lecturer in Product Design at the University of Bologna
Specialized in material research and the latest generation of 3D-printing technologies, she creates unique, contemporary objects made of organic materials such as resin and hemp, thereby integrating industrial and agricultural processes.
Organic Vases
These small architectures are made of PLA (polylactic acid derived from renewable sources such as corn) neutral in color, and the natural fibre that determines their colour: tomato peel = red color; grass = green color; hemp = beige color; and pomegranate seeds = acid green color.
Porcelain Vases
Each piece is slowly crafted with machinery and hands, silently negotiating two contradictory elements. It uses technology that’s rapid, repeatable and rigorous to make bold yet ethereal statements.
