L’Objet designs works of art for the home that are both luxurious and functional, crafted with the highest degree of excellence and quality. Design Space is honoured to welcome L'Objet to our catalogue of high-end European interior brands.
In this blog post, we explore the history and craftsmanship of L’Objet, from their collaboration with LA-based Haas Brothers to their expert silversmithing techniques.
The History of L’Objet
Founded in 2004, L’Objet was born at the intersection of meticulous craftsmanship and timeless sensibility – the life work fo Founder and Creative Director, Elad Yifrach.
As a lifelong traveller with a global perfective of design, Elad imbues every design with its own story – a spirited homage to the cultures that inspired them and the artisans who bring them to life.
Every piece bearing the mark of L’Objet has been touched by the hand of artisan, using proprietary techniques that have been passed down for generations.
Today, the brand continues to set standards in the luxury décor and lifestyle industries – still employing many of the same craftspeople found by Elad on his early travels.
L’Objet collaborates with the Haas Brothers
With the help of 3D-printing, the incredible designs were transported from the Haas Brother’s studio in Los Angeles to the L’Objet porcelain atelier in Portugal. Together with Elad, founder and creative director of L’Objet, the brothers flew to Portugal to manually work and sculpt each prototype by hand, which were then transformed in moulds ready for the porcelain pouring.
Beyond mere quality control, this extraordinary collaboration needed to feel just right – handcrafted with every stage of the process. With their collaboration, L’Objet have mastered the balance of retaining the hand as a primary tool while using technology to support the complex and precise process.
The Craftsmanship of L’Objet
Artisan Metals
By employing expert silversmithing techniques, L’Objet works with artisans to create fine metal pieces for the table and the home.
Emulating centuries of fine jewellery design, L’Objets' intricate gold and platinum photo frames are finished with bevelled glass, satin lining, and Italian leather. Hollowware pieces are hand-forged from polished stainless steel and plated with 24K gold details. Innovative combinations pair fine metals with enamel, Swarovski crystals, and porcelain to create a texture-rich collection.
Apothicaire Home Fragrances
At L’Objet, fragrances are artfully balanced with unexpected blends of all-natural aromatics, designed to stir memories and uplift the senses. In collaboration with renowned perfumer Yann Vasnier, each of L’objet’s exclusive scents is created with a top note, heart note, and base net – lending complexity to the home fragrance experience.
Apothicaire formulations are contained in special black violet glass that is UV-blocking to ensure lasting potency. Rejuvenating and invigorating, these scents and experience create an escape from the ordinary.
